How it works

Three taps to a verified number. Works offline.
1
Pick

Choose a trade on the home page, then size, class, type — in that order. Grey chips are not made in that combination; the app never swaps in something else. Tap ‹ Marja or swipe in from the left edge to go back home.

Read the card

The answer first, the drawing with the same letters as the standard's table, then one tip for the job. Tap a drawing to enlarge. Tap any row in the table below to load it.

3
Trust, but know the source

Every card names its standard and edition. Values from catalogues say so. A yellow strip means one source only — check before you order.

Type what you'd say: 6 class 300, R45, 4 gate valve, 3/4 shackle. Press / on a keyboard.

Obstacles — distance from slew centre, height, width
Side view, to scale
Geometry only: radius = foot offset + boom × cos(angle); tip height = foot height + boom × sin(angle). Boom foot height and offset come from the crane's data sheet — the defaults are typical for a 50–100 t mobile crane. Deflection under load is not included; keep extra clearance. Capacity at this radius comes from the crane's own chart — enter it on the Lift plan tab.
Typical allowable ground bearing
GroundkPapsfkg/cm²
Outrigger load uses the common planning rule that one outrigger can see about 70 % of crane-plus-load (some manufacturers' charts give the exact figure — use theirs when you have it). Ground bearing values are typical handbook figures; a geotechnical report or plate test overrides them. Power-line clearances are OSHA 1926.1408 Table A minimums; above 1,000 kV ask the utility. Critical-lift threshold: 75 % here — use your site's rule.

Draft only. Your site's official lift plan form is the one that gets signed. Use this page to work the numbers out before you fill it in, or as a toolbox-talk handout.

Angle factors
AngleTension factorEach of 2 legs carriesCapacity left
Tension in each leg = load ÷ legs × factor. Below 30° the factor passes 2.0 and keeps climbing fast; ASME B30.9 requires a qualified person to approve any lift below 30°. Three- and four-leg bridles: rate as if two legs carry the load unless the legs are proven to share.
Steel plate, per square foot
Thicknesslb/ft²kg/m²4 × 8 ft sheet
Densities are typical mid-range values. When in doubt use the heavier figure — trapped water in a skip or bin is the usual reason a load weighs more than the estimate. Round bar: lb/ft = 2.67 × d² (inches).
ASME B30.9 removal criteria, short form. Any one condition means the sling comes out of service. Chain stretch has no percentage in B30.9 — any measurable stretch is enough.
ASME B30.5 standard hand signals. Only one person signals; anyone can give Stop. Agree the signaller before the lift starts.
Code minimums
Rules read independently twice from reproductions of ASME B31.3 (2020/2022), B31.4, B31.8, B16.5-2020 and B16.34. Not included until verified: PCC-2 exclusion distances, chloride limits for stainless, the B31.8 maximum-pressure column, and allowable-stress tables — enter S and SMYS from your line class or mill certificate.
